L.A. Story

rsz_mad_men_ext_airport_jon_jessica_0895_0897_v2What do we know about the first episode of the first half of the last season of Mad Men? Hardly anything. Reviewers have been sworn to secrecy regarding details and Variety‘s Brian Lowry is careful in that regard. He does mention, however, that Sterling Cooper will open a Los Angeles branch and this is where Don is heading. He also doesn’t see Don and Megan’s marriage ending well. As for Roger Sterling, “not surprisingly, [he] has embraced the sexual revolution with all the gusto he brought to chasing secretaries around the office.” Lowry also notes that Mad Men “has perhaps inevitably lost some of its then-versus-now power as the show has advanced through the ‘60s, even with the shifting fashions and goofy sideburns.” Indeed, we are at the point where little Bobby is probably at home watching the Brady Bunch.

Mad Men season seven returns on April 13, 10 p.m., on AMC.
