‘A Freaking Cancer Twilight’

Give the producers of The Fault In Our Stars this much: They know who their audience is. And at the moment that audience is freaking out. Variety reports that the film, based on the book by Jon Green about teenage love and angst but with the added specter of cancer, has been viewed more than 17.3 million times on YouTube and garnered more likes (270,420 at the time of this post) than One Direction: This Is Us. In other words, it is the most “liked” trailer on YouTube.

And it’s not just that all these teen girls are going to be first in line to see The Fault. It’s that right after the movie ends, they’ll get right back on that line. To wit, check out a sampling of comments (more than 33,000 have so far been posted):

I cry very single time i watch this… I’ve watched this trailer a thousand times, and each time i promise myself to NOT cry… But then it comes to the “Okay” part and i just completely lose it.

I get goosebumps every single time I watch this!! …..I’ve watched this about 35 times.

IM CRYING. I CANT WAIT

Every time I watch the trailer I start crying, I’m just going to be a hot mess when the movie comes out
